I really enjoy Kids in the Way. They have always been my favorite band... honestly. I love the hard core sound with out being totally over the edge, and David Pelsue's voice is simply amazing. Vocally the band has really matured since their first release Safe from the Losing Fight. IT seemed like the singer was trying to make his voice something it was not, and it just made him sound weird. But since the first album they seem to have drifted from christian based lyrics. They first CD was full of God honoring lyrics and was great to listen too. Now they sound better, their music has improved but they sing more about human relationships then they do about their relationship with their heavenly father.

Still I love it. I bought the CD a month ago and it has not left the CD player in my car. It's got great guitar playing and amazing vocals... but it has a void in it that use to be filled with praise for Jesus Christ.

Pretty good, but not as good as first | Posted September-06-2007
I have a deep, deep respect for BarlowGirl. They have the most amazing message for teen girls today I wish that every girl could see them in concert just once ( i have had the privilage of seeing them 3 times) and just here what they have to say. They have taking a stand against immodesty, premarrital sex, and other hot topics that plage today's youth.

I have a passion for rock, mostly hard, so I really enjoyed their first album. The second one was Ok, but not my fave. The third... well I was a bit insulted that they would call it a rock album since the main intrument happens to be a violin. Beautiful, moving but puleeze! NOT ROCK! And that is totally Ok, because the sound is not the most important thing about music, it's the lyrics, and the heart of the singer(s), but please don't call it rock, because that's just wrong.

The "Song for the Broken" was so incredible moving and beautiful that I just lost myself in the music. Violins really give me a headache, and a screaming guitar give me pleasue (lol) but the lyrics and the sound of Alyssa Barlow's voice just melted me. The same with "I believe in Love" and "Here's my Life" Just beautiful worship that anyone could get lost in.

"Million Voices" I found to be very encouraging. Sometimes when we look at the trouble in the world and the persicution that Christians are getting we sometimes seem to forget that we are not alone in our battle with the world. We feel so along, like we are the only pine tree in a forest of Palm trees!! Barlow sings "We're a million strong and getting stronger still they'll remember we were here. with a million voices breaking silence till they'll remember we were here." it was very encouraging.

And last but not least, "The Guy Song!" It is a fun, upbeat song that they wrote just for guys! They have seemed to be a band for girls so not wanting to forget about the men in the world they wrote them a song! It's one of my faves now.

The CD is good, and I can see how it will become some people's favorite!

Great Followup! | Posted September-06-2007
In a review of Steller Kart that I read recently, the author described the band as a "'power pop, punk rock' band" and after listening to "We Can't Stand Sitting Down" I really have to agree.

The songs just have the punk energy, that just makes you want to get up and dance, and just this weekend I had the chance to see them in concert, and trust me, You CANNOT sit down! You just have to jump and clap with them!

The songs in this CD have much more spiritual depth then the the first, but I enjoyed both of them greatly! They never fail to have some sort of message in their songs and the lyrics seem to be inspired by God. SK has a message and they are not afraid to share it, and this is reflected greatly in their music as well as in their live shows. They have great punk rock song that make you want to dance, as well as beautiful worship songs like Angels In Chorus and Hold On and Me and Jesus.

In short, these four guys have been called by God to the music industry, and they are certainly doing their job well and with joy!
This CD is defintly worth buying and listening to, and is not going to make it out of your CD player anytime soon!

I am a huge fan of Disciple, so of course I\\\'m goinig to like the new album, but I liked Scars remain a whole lot more then I liked Rise Up before it.

In Scars Remain they really spend more time in prayer, asking God to help them to write the songs that GOD wanted them to write, not what they wanted to sing about. They surrendered the CD and God in return gave them simply amazing lyrics.

I for one hate an empty CD. If a band is going to call themselves a Christian Band they need to walk their talk and sing Christ centered songs. A few songs that might focus on girls or life is OK but for them ALL to be about that is a bruise to the Christian name, I think anyway. Disciple remains true to their Christian name and continue to produce Christ-centered CD\\\'s. They offer worship songs, with that heavy metal sound that we all LOVE!!! I love worship but I also love heavy metal so it\\\'s great when I can get two in one.

Kevin Young seems intent on proving that he has the pipes to do just about anything. From beautiful soft vocals (that reminded me of Nickleback at times) to that blood curling scream that seems to be their signiture sound! It is full of varity, not just the same thing over and over. Not to mention that it\\\'s just Disciple and really, what\\\'s not to love about them?

Great Follow Up! | Posted August-23-2007
I am really impressed with Hawk Nelsons follow up to Letters to the President.

The first ablum rocked, but they have definitally matured since then.

I really love how they can tackel the real tough topic of broken homes. They really cut deep on the issue and it was very moving. At the same time they also stuck to the fun, upbeat punk sound and songs that we all fell in love with in the first CD. I totally cannot wait to see what they will do next!
