Brooke I agree with what others are saying of her. Her voice is great. the problem is that there doesn't seem to be any hook-nothing special. The songs all sound like something I heard before and it is a humbdrum...

It's Tuesday, so new Christian album to review. This week is Mat Kearney's "City of Black & White". It is a descent album, but really nothing to get too excited about. Guess if you like a tone down Matthew West, you will like this one-I have to be in a vegging mood to listen to him. Again, not bad, just nothing exciting that I haven't heard before. The tone is so muted, that the lyrics get lost with the music and his voice puts me to sleep-which could be good if that is what you are looking for. Again, not bad but not anything to write home about. Rather listen to Matthew West. Not sure I will be adding this to my collection. There just is no song that stands out to me. Sorry man, but I need more emotion and deeper lyrics.
If you like Keene, you will like him. Just not my cup of tea.

I am going to be lame and say that this album rocks. I am only saying this because most Christmas albums are soooo boring. (What's with the Country twang??? This is rock, so leave the country stuff out-sorry Barlow Girls but I call it as I see it). I hate hearing Christmas music that sounds the same as everyone else is doing-I really hate it. And with Christmas starting now right after Halloween, the same old-same old music is pretty sickening by Dec. So this album is great. I am definately playing this with my Third Day, Jars of Clay, tobyMac and Stacie O christmas albums this holiday. If there are any christian artist reading this, then please for those of us who get tired of the same songs over and over again-try something new or come up with a different favor-PLEASE. Hey I am still waiting for a Jamacian/hip Hop flavor christmas album-that would sooo rock.

I agree with what others are saying of her. Her voice is great. the problem is that there doesn't seem to be any hook-nothing special. The songs all sound like something I heard before and it is a humbdrum version. Although this is ripping tunes, they just don't seem so rocking-did someone turn down the base or what.
And udually I don't complain about the lyrics, but maybe less would be better. I am not sure-less says more that a mouthful that is rushed.
Great piano and guitar playing-just nothing magical. As for her vocals, I suspect that she could do more with it. Too monatone for what she was trying to do. Not much diversity. Plumb does it better.
Still a good music, just not too inspiring to me. Rather listen to FireFLight or Worth Dying For.

Perfect music for hitting the beach. This album is greaat. Wonderful vocals with a great upbeat music that makes you want to sing along. She reminds me of Jennifer Knapp. Definately worth listening to. This is my summer album to listen to while driving down the coast.Love it.
