Kari Jobe- Kari Jobe
Quite predictably, I knew I was going to be listening to a quality production as I slipped this CD into the player- I’d read this self-titled album had been master produced by Ed Cash, although once I’d hit the play button I hadn’t expected to embark on such a musical journey that would leave me to conclude this simply has to be one of the best worship albums of the decade, a statement I’m more than happy to stick my neck out with!
Kari Jobe ushers the listener beautifully into a place of worship, the soothing clarity of her voice, so expressive in the familiar and much loved ‘Healer’; the melodious ‘Everyone needs a little’ blending wonderfully to the joyful ‘Singing over me’ before becoming captivated with the opening chorus of ‘No sweeter name’.
The delicate harmony of ‘Sweep me away’ preludes to the penultimate track of 12, ‘Revelation song’ which has to be, in my opinion, this album's crowning glory, as we look forward to the eternal song of heaven expressed from Revelation scripture.
The album culminates wonderfully with the intimate and deeply personal ‘You are for me’.
From three years of age, Kari’s singing has developed within the church and her heart for worship is plain to hear, this whole album reflecting the Father's glory from beginning to end.
