Good Live Album

What makes a live album? The crowd. Simple as that. If you don't have a great crowd who will sing back to you, and cheer at the right time, than the live album fails. Fortunately, this album has a good crowd, seen better, but good.
"Died and Rose" is better than the studio version in so many ways. The first half of the record is good, but it isn't that great toward the middle, but the end brings it home with a bang. NEW PARODIES! "With A Harp David Writes" is a great energetic song, and the crowd loves it, even though it's totally new. The highlight however is "Walk On Water". The crowd's reaction to the famous guitar riff is incredible, and for good reason. This is a great parody by Apologetix, and works best live, a studio version wouldn't have been half as good. The album ends with "Found God", which is OK, but I'm not impressed, especially since I wasn't a big fan of the original.
Overall, a great live album. Apologetix knows how to put on a show. I would make the effort to go to one of their concerts, but it all depends on the set list. Get a list of songs you don't know, or like, and the experience isn't that great. By the way, they need to work on their stage banter. View All Music And Book Reviews By art10 | View art10's Profile
