Something a little different...

By dandesmond,
I think sometimes, the Christian music scene can end up having a variety of bands that start to sound too similar in the different styles of music. Brian "Head" Welch, formely of KoRn before leaving the band in 2005 released his debut solo album in 2008.
With KoRn struggling in recent years to create the success of their first five albums, it shows that what is missing from their band is Brian. He has released a superb debut with "Save Me From Myself" with catchy riffs and a unique vocal style, adding something a little different to the Christian music scene.
It's not a perfect album, but it's a great start for his Christian music career. The low parts of the album can sometimes be the need to rhyme certain tracks (Lyrics such as "Your soul is mine, I don't want to fight, don't be unkind" just seem rush)
However, Brian hits some topics most Christian artists would not touch, including addiction to drugs and alcohol (Flush) the need to let people know that without Christ is death (Home) and the power of the blood of Jesus (Washed By Blood)
Brian will be releasing a new album with his new band, "Love and Death" in October 2012 and I look forward to seeing the results of that. If it's anything like "Save Me From Myself" it will be an album with hard hitting riffs, vocals and themes. View All Music And Book Reviews By dandesmond | View dandesmond's Profile
