On the Rise

You've seen music videos such as "Jesus Loves Me," "Color Blind" and most recently "Haters" from the Michigan artist Beacon Light. Now Beacon has released a new, well-produced eight song project titled Lit.
The first track "Lit" was produced really well. The hook really brings me in and is a banger for anyone listening. "Haters" is my favorite song on the album. Beacon does a great job with his flow, mixing fast lyrics with a hook that will be in your head for days. I love how vulnerable he gets during "Be That Way;" it kind of had that NF "Wish You Wouldn't" feel to it.
"Game Time" and "Quite Like Me" feature artists Dre Murray and Steven Malcolm. These are both songs that should be in everyones workout set, songs you'll be wanting to see at a live show! "Falling" may seem to some like a song to skip over, but it reminded me of a Macklemore song. Beacon is honest, and the flow is easy to understand because he's not hiding what he believes.
Closing Thoughts:
Beacon Light is an artist on the rise. You can tell that he cares about the production of his songs, and he cares about the audience he's speaking to. He never hides the fact that Jesus is where he gets his strength from. Overall, I liked the album. For me some of the instrumentals sounded the same, but his flow has really grown since his previous project Open Eyes. I think Lit had a good concept and was original, but Beacon has a whole new level that he can reach on his next project.
