Easily one of Canada's most talented up-and-coming rock bands, Ontario-based Article One combines violin, guitar, and three-part vocal harmonies to create a reminiscent yet inventive sound. Comprising founding brothers Nathan Piche (vocals/guitars/piano) and Matthew Piche (vocals/violin) as well as Dave De Smit (vocals/drums), Article One began playing locally in 2003 alongside the release of a five-song EP. An immediate buzz followed the trio, and they were asked to join The Elms' fall tour in 2004. Shortly thereafter, the band released its first full-length CD, self-titled, which prompted its busiest touring season to date. Among those performances was Kingdom Bound's International Talent Search, where Article One walked away with the winning title.
