What You Need To Know
Australian worship collective, Planetshakers, releases their Glory, Pt. Two EP as a follow-up to Part 1 released in January 2020.
What It Sounds Like
Planetshakers has always had an eclectic sound that demonstrates how worship can be fun, edgy, and spiritually engaging at the same time. That same style, infectious energy, and passion for God shine through on Glory, Pt. Two. The four-song EP covers a lot of ground as far as genres go, giving us a taste of pop/rock ("So Good"), ballads ("Encounter Song," "All"), and synth-pop ("Living Louder)".
Spiritual/Lyrical Highlights
The bridge of "Encounter Song" takes imagery from the biblical story in Mark 5 of the woman with the issue of blood. In faith and desperation, she pushed through crowds of people just to touch the hem of Jesus' garment, knowing that if she could touch Him she would be healed. The lyrics in this song express that kind of faith and pursuit of God, believing He will work powerfully in areas of deep need in our lives.
I'm pushing through the crowd/'Cause Lord, I need You now/Jesus I'm desperate/For a touch from heaven/I'm reaching out to You/Your power's breaking through/Lord, I'm believing/Lord, I'm believing
Best Song On The Record
"So Good" is the best song on the record, in my opinion. It's a high-energy praise song celebrating the goodness of God to transform our lives. It's also got some standout bass and drum moments, and the electric guitar drives the energy of the song really well.
