What You Need To Know
SEU Worship is the music ministry from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. Lead vocalists Dan Rivera, David Ryan Cook, Kenzie Walker, and Sydney Wilson lead a stirring worship experience on A Thousand Generations, SEU Worship's seventh album.
What It Sounds Like SEU Worship sings the eternal truths of Scripture packaged in a sound that's refreshing, modern and youthful. The album perfectly combines live instruments, electronic sounds and engaging lyrics, giving you a blend of high-energy praise ("Freedom All Around") and worshipful ballads ("A Thousand Generations").
"Yeshua" even adds some Gospel piano vibes to SEU Worship's already musically creative sound. The melody lines in both the instruments and vocals are at the same time captivating and easy to catch on to and sing along.
Spiritual/Lyrical Highlights
The lyrics of "King Among Men" are so simple to grasp and worship to but are so rich in theology as well. The song worships Jesus as our King who traded his thrown for a cross to save the world and who will return to rule forever. The song reminds me of Philippians 2:5-11.
Best Song On The Record
"Glory Come Down" is a standout on the record. A passionate and energetic cry to be filled fresh with God's Spirit, the song is emotional while still having a beat you can groove to. The reprise of the song captures a spontaneous moment of worship in which the crowd continues singing the chorus after the song has ended.
As the congregation cries out for encounter with God, the band follows them to build the song back in. This song and raw worship moment showcase SEU Worship's versality and creativity both as singers/musicians and as worship leaders.
