Solid Vertical Worship Album| Posted October 06, 2008
I've enjoyed Lincoln Brewster for many years and have been led by him in worship at Creation East twice and found his passion and musicianship very engaging, particularly on some of his biggest hit songs The Power Of Your Love, Let The Praises Ring, Everlasting God and Love The Lord, all of which have been staples in corporate worship at my church for many years. His songs tend to be vertical worship with biblical lyrics and with nice melodic hooks similar to Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and Tim Hughes.
Today Is The Day is no exception to past quality work by Lincoln Brewster and will certainly add a couple more songs to corporate worship, in particular the hook-filled and biblical title song and the great cover of the Hillsong classic Salvation Is Here. As others have said, the musicianship and guitar playing really stands out on this album most of all. Everywhere I Go and Give Him Praise are prime examples where you can get lost in the nice melodies and guitar playing. For me, the stand-out songs which keep me coming back are the excellent God You Reign, which I can best describe as Hillsong meets Jeff Healey Band along with my favorite song The Power Of Your Name, sung with Darlene Zschech of Hillsong. I had to immediately replay the latter song as it is a must-have track on this solid vertical worship album by Lincoln Brewster. For me, this album is 4 out of 5 stars.
Lincoln Brewster [Today Is The Day]| Posted October 07, 2008 [MAIN REVIEW]
Lincoln Brewster is back with his 6th album Today is the Day. With several songs reaching the top of the charts from the other five albums this one is sure to follow suite. We have already seen major radio play from the albums title song, “Today is the Day”.
Since a young age Lincoln has been interested in music. His mother taught him to play the mandolin at the age of five and then onto electric guitar by the age of nine. Lincoln didn’t quit there. By the age of 22 he had reached a level that most musicians never reach.
Lincoln didn’t always have Christ in his life growing up. It wasn’t until he started attending church with his high-school sweetheart and eventual wife that Lincoln gave his heart to Christ. After being on the road for some time he started listening to God’s true calling on his life and accepted a job at a church in California. That was what eventually led him to being the churches music minister. Lincoln and his wife Laura currently reside in CA where he still leads worship at his church. They have two sons Liam and Levi.
Lincoln’s music really ministers. Ever since I first heard his music I have been hooked. There is something so pure and full of passion that grabs you and doesn’t let go.
I was excited to know that this album was going to be arriving in the mail. I couldn’t wait to come home and listen to it. I must admit that I wasn’t disappointed. This album is a great follow up with the work he has done. I have to say that my favorite song is “The Arms of My Savior”. This song is powerful. The structure of the song is so simple and really focuses on the message God provided Lincoln. The chorus of this song says “There’s no other place that I’d rather be / than safe in the arms / the arms of my Savior. There’s no other place that I can be free so I run to the arms / the arms of my Savior.” This is so true. If we would go about our day and live our lives knowing and thinking about this imagine what we could do. Imagine others being able to see you glowing with God’s grace.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
I couldn’t have been more excited about writing a review for anyone else. I have been a Lincoln Brewster fan since the beginning. I would love the chance to see him in concert or to meet him. This album just adds to what makes him and his music so great. From what I have heard and read Lincoln is a very humble and gracious individual. He stays grounded and obedient to God’s will.
Lincoln knows he is blessed. He says, “I’m truly grateful to be able to do what I do. I know I don’t deserve it, but I am committed to doing my best with what God has put before me.” We don’t have to be musicians to live by this. We as Christians need to have this philosophy with any and everything we do.
I would like to take a minute and say to Lincoln, ‘Thank You’. The music industry is one of the hardest there is. It definitely takes a true man of God to do the things you do. I pray that you continue to follow the will of God and always remember we were created to worship.

Great CD| Posted September 03, 2009
Today is the Day is one of the most contagious songs in Christian music. Everytime I hear the song it simple gets stuck in my head. The whole cd is very good and the guitars and lyrics make the album stand out. The Power of Your Name is another song that really sticks out on this album. It is cool how he made the song a family affair. Very good job Brewster!!

Wow! This guy is an amazing guitarist. My brother had it playing in his car and i immediately put it on my ipod and was hooked. My favorite song is let your glory shine. He is probably my favorite worship band behind david crowder. If you haven't already check it out!

I saw Lincoln @ Creation East '09 and he was awesome. What a great worship experience. "Today is The Day" is and will be a powerful praise song for years to come. It is the type of song that makes you want to stand on the mountain top and sing it to the Lord. Thanks Lincoln.
The Best Worship CD I've Heard!| Posted July 17, 2009
Lincoln Brewster's album, "Today Is The Day" is truly a worship experience like none other. The guitar-laden songs and deep, meaningful lyrics are some of the elements that separate this CD from the crowd. Some of my favorite songs are "Everywhere I Go" and "Let Your Glory Shine", but then again, I like all of the songs on "Today Is The Day"! "Let Your Glory Shine" is filled with guitar riffs and solos that are sure to make you smile! The song, "The Power Of Your Name" is a very powerful song with very deep lyrics. This song talks about living for Christ and changing the world for Him.
Lincoln Brewster is a truly talented guitarist and worship leader, and I highly recommend that you take a look at this CD!
The Best To Date| Posted November 04, 2008
After buying and listening to Lincoln Brewsters 'Best Of' tracks of him playing some great classics in today's contemporary scence, the first thing I fell in love with, was his style. This man can play guitar. And adding that amazing tradition called 'soloing' is definetly what stands him out from the rest. I was a little 'iffy' on buying his new album without listening to a couple tracks, but I'm glad I decided to give in. The first three tracks are simply amazing. Upbeat, and full of truth spoken lyrics, combined with amazing riffs that don't just add noise to the song, but yet, give it that amazing feeling that keeps you wanting more. And that's one thing that I love about Lincoln's style. He doesn't just solo to fill the spot. He actually creates the riff to harmonize with the music. And, of course, one thing I did notice, especially on 'Arms of My Savior' was some key parts that made you think you were listening to a John Mayer track. Now, I haven't confirmed this, but I'm pretty John played a role in Lincoln's choice for style. This CD is a must own for anybody who loves contemporary music, who can open up to a whole new level with the mix of amazing guitar riffs, and beautiful solo's that fit each song PERFECT!

Lincoln has been a short time favourite of mine, he has all of the excitement and energy in his songs that propel me as a christian. There are a number of songs that right off the bat i loved which are the ones below.
God you reign
This Love
However I have been listening to the whole album for the past week or so and some of the other tracks are starting to settle down and minister to me. Lincoln always has great new tracks and this album is no exception.

I love this album!!!!!! It is just roky enough to be "hip" but not so much that it hurts my ears to listen to it :-P This guy knows how to rock! I am so glad to see people living out the blessings that God has given them. I had one of his old albums but this new one is even better. I can't wait to get this album and love this style of music!!!
