Save Me From Myself [edit]
by Brian (Head) Welch | Genre: Hard Rock/Metal | Release Date: September 09, 2008

Brian Welch better known by his nickname Head, is one of the founding members of KoRn, a multi-platinum, Grammy award winning metal band and a major influence in the rise of the heavy metal movement. While with KoRn, Head won two Grammy s and sold over 30 million albums to date. Head is a also a successful author and released a book in July 2007 through Harper Collins. The book, also titled Save Me From Myself , spent many weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers List. The Debut Album, Save Me From Myself , is a testimony to Head s life, as he battled with drug addiction and leaving KoRn. The album features renown musicians such as Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper, David Bowie) and Josh Freese ( A Perfect Circle, Evanescence, Nine Inch Nails) and, was mixed by Ralph Patlan and Bob Clearmountain. Save Me From Myself is heavy, compelling and inspirational.

Something a little different... | Posted July 01, 2012
I think sometimes, the Christian music scene can end up having a variety of bands that start to sound too similar in the different styles of music. Brian "Head" Welch, formely of KoRn before leaving the band in 2005 released his debut solo album in 2008.

With KoRn struggling in recent years to create the success of their first five albums, it shows that what is missing from their band is Brian. He has released a superb debut with "Save Me From Myself" with catchy riffs and a unique vocal style, adding something a little different to the Christian music scene.

It's not a perfect album, but it's a great start for his Christian music career. The low parts of the album can sometimes be the need to rhyme certain tracks (Lyrics such as "Your soul is mine, I don't want to fight, don't be unkind" just seem rush)

However, Brian hits some topics most Christian artists would not touch, including addiction to drugs and alcohol (Flush) the need to let people know that without Christ is death (Home) and the power of the blood of Jesus (Washed By Blood)

Brian will be releasing a new album with his new band, "Love and Death" in October 2012 and I look forward to seeing the results of that. If it's anything like "Save Me From Myself" it will be an album with hard hitting riffs, vocals and themes.

I was very glad to hear of Brian welch's coming to christ and even more so to hear his album.Despite criticism he has received from christians and others(former bandmates,Korn),he is very talented and his CD is definitely worth while."Flush" and "Rebel",are my favorites off of the album.I am very excited to see what the future holds for his career.

Well, I'm giving this man's cd 5 stars. Only because I find myself in support of Head. As long as he's willing to be true and honest about everything. And after reading the book, and listening to the cd, I'd have to say I'm impressed. I was one of those guys that wasn't expecting Head to fulfill his choice in accepting Christ, but he proved that one wrong. As for the music, of course it has Korn influence behind it. Your talking about the ex-guitarist for one of the greatest nu metal groups in the era. (or at least, was the greatest) Head, in my opinion, has given the positive music scene a taste of a different chunk of music. That is of course what created the fan base of Korn in the beginning. I will say that the lyrics could have been adjusted, but you can't blame a man for being open and honest. I'm looking forward to what's next with Head, and his future.

Seriously??? | Posted September 15, 2008
Well for one, I don't see how you can make a judgement about a CD's quality without listening to it but I guess that's just me. Personally I like the album. I can definitely hear the Korn influences in his music which is a nice touch. And I really like how he brought in such issues as neglection, child abuse, and the problems with organized Religion. These are some issues a lot of bands are almost afraid to sing about. I'm glad somebody is singing about them. The only reason I gave this CD a 4 1/2 stars is because I think he could've done a better job with the music video for "Flush". I think he may have crossed the line with the two half-naked girls licking red powder off each other. But other than that, good job Brian.
