The Union of Sinners and Saints is led by John Schlitt, lead singer of Petra, and Billy Smiley, guitarist, singer, and founding member of Whiteheart. 

The guys are putting together a full album with remakes of some of the most memorable songs from Petra and Whiteheart, plus some dramatic new compositions. The CD will be available exclusively at Lifeway Stores on June 17, and digitally on iTunes and other popular digital outlets world-wide.

The album features members from two of the best-selling Christian rock bands of all time and guest contributions by other well-known players in Christian music. New artist Jason Fowler (whom Smiley produced) joins the guys on vocals and guitar and will be featured during the band's touring later this summer. Bassist Anthony Sallee of Whiteheart will also be part of the touring band.

Schlitt says, "The idea of a new project really intrigued Billy and me. With our histories, it only made sense to feature Petra and Whiteheart favorites along with some of the new songs we were writing in the studio. We both still have a passion to share the love of Jesus. We're all sinners, and it's only through the blood of Christ that we can be called saints. Christ is our union. Thus, the band's name --
