Woke up this morning in a warm bed that I own
Had a hot thirty minute shower in my nice suburban home
Got dressed, had breakfast, jumped in my car,
And headed off to my job
And though I didn't need it, for some strange reason, at the gas station I stopped.
I swiped my ATM card and I started pumping gas
when a homeless guy sitting on the corner looked at me and he asked...
Said "I'd be willing to wipe your windows for any spare change you might have?"
And I looked away and said "I don't have the cash."
But when I reached down and touched my wallet, God hit me in the face, it doesn't take much to share His Love, so I turned back and said...
CHORUS:
In Jesus' Name I could buy you lunch,
And are these candy bars enough?
And I could have another coke poured in your cup.
When we walk outside I could say a prayer,
give you a hug to show I care,
Hand you my Bible that I read from just today,
And I can do it all in Jesus' Name.
Recall the boy who had his snack become a feast
Despite the massive crowds and the impossible odds
He laid the food at Jesus' feet.
Jesus took the bread, paused to bless, and passed it all around,
And when the crowds were fed twelve baskets full of left-overs were found.
We're all like that little boy, we don't have that much to give,
but God can take the little that we offer and do much more than we imagine...
BRIDGE:
I know it feels so overwhelming
hearing rich rock stars telling that what we do is not enough to save the day.
But I've seen Jesus in the least of
and all He needed was a piece of bread and a person who cared.
In Jesus' Name I can ask about your week.
In Jesus' Name I can babysit for free.
In Jesus' Name I can shovel your walk.
In Jesus' Name there are a million things to choose from.
OUTRO:
How will you show His Love?
How will you show you care?
