You were a saint burning bright like a light on the earth.
Until you felt the pain, left us standing alone in the dark.
And I was afraid, but you can be sure this time, I'll be waiting for you.
When you taste the grave and you've eaten your fill of the dirt,
Then I will remain when you've beaten the ways of this world.
Dead or alive, as sure as the Lord is good, I'll be waiting for you.
