Great 80's Sound! | Posted September-12-2012
This album has such a cool 80's sound to it. It is definitely one of a kind. "Alibi" is Edin-Adahl's first internationally released album released in 1983. My favorite tracks are the first 2, "Wake Up", and "On the Cutting Edge". This is a true gem for any Christian music collector with an appreciation for the old stuff of international stuff. They're English may be a little rough (they're Swedish), but that just adds to the fun. It has a different sound to it. It's an 80's pop sound with something about it that just takes you right into the 80's atmosphere. This is definitely one of my favorite albums!
Swedish Language Only, but Great Music | Posted September-11-2012
Yes, like I said, this is a Swedish language only album. No English version. An unknown album, though, with some great pop music! This album is Edin-Adahl's debut together, with them all looking very young. But if ya ever run across this album, and appreciate the historical significance, pick it up by all means!
Interesting But Great | Posted September-11-2012
Petra's first album, 1974. If you are used to Petra's heyday of the 80's or any other time period, you will find this album a bit of a shocker. This album has a 70's southern rock sound, and very unpolished, gruff vocals. The lyrics are simple lyrics of new found faith. There are some great twangy rock moments on this, and some great guitar solos. One song (Lucas McGraw) is even bluegrass!
So if you like 70's country rock, give this a try. It was a cutting edge album in 1974 for the Christian music industry.
The Classics Brought to the 21st Century! | Posted September-11-2012
Being my favorite band, I was estatic when I discovered they would be reuniting into their 1984-1985 lineup and releasing "Back to the Rock".
When I first received the album, I wasn't sure what to expect; whether it would sound too modernized, or still have the amazing classic feel. I was pleasantly surprised. When "Bema Seat" opened the album, it boomed with classic with a smooth production sound. I knew this would be good. Each song is very smooth, but also contains the 80's synthesizers. My favorite is "Adonai" because I always knew it would make a great modern worship hit if rerecorded in the 20th century.
