What's Under Your Skin? | Posted June-24-2009
Just finished this book and WOW what a lot of twists and turns. What does Dekker eat for dinner so that he dreams up this stuff in his nightmares?
I hated the ending only because I wanted it to keep going ... :-)
Thanks Ted for another wonderful book!

After loving their first album (Space inbetween us), I just had to get this one (haven't heard their "Rise" album yet).
Although no one song really stood out for me, they were all really good. I've only listened all the way through once, so I'm sure the more I listen, some favs will start to stand out.
Does anyone else agree that the lead singer "sort of" sounds like Geoff Moore? :-)

Superchic[k] are some rocking gals (and guys). Great CD from the kick off girl empowering "Anthem" all the way to the end. This CD could have used a few more kicking songs, but this is a good CD and I really liked it.

Can't Kick The Habit... | Posted December-07-2007
Wow! What a CD! I took a chance on this CD as I sort of knew what to expect by seeing a few of this group's music videos on the Gospel Music Channel. I had some music points saved up with my music club, so I decided to go ahead and get this album.
Although I'm not much into the "screaming" type of singing... I actually really like this album. Lots of fresh energy and just good 'ol rock that will blast you out! :-)
I don't know how those guys have any voice left after a concert though...
I wonder which of the band members had such a bad boss to write a song about her... ha!
Awesome CD... Get one for yourself...

Wow. This is an awesome worship album. Just about every track is wonderful. I try to only put the tracks I really really love from a CD on my iPod. I just about left the whole project on there, but finally decided to axe tracks 5 and 10.
I saw SonicFlood a long time ago when they were first getting started and performed on one of the "side" stages (which was really a flat bed trailer) at Agape Festival held in Greenville, IL. One of the guys was stuffing down McDonald's french fries between songs.
Fun stuff...

Taking a Knapp | Posted August-23-2007
Jennifer really hit the music scene running and gained a large following pretty quickly. But just after a few albums, has now all but disappeared. Her record label has released a Live album (from an old concert) and a Best Of album just to keep her face and name out there.
This album has some really good tracks and some that just didn't do anything for me. Jennifer has a great voice for doing the style of music she does, but, I'm only leaving about half the CD on my iPod... mostly the second half.
Jennifer, Jennifer, where for art thou, Jennifer?

Hard to Like | Posted August-03-2007
It was really hard for me to like this album (which I got free as a download from Derek's record label). I really liked Derek's style from when he was with Caedmon's Call. It just seemed to me that this CD was a little depressing. The lyrics are right on with their meanings, but the music was something I couldn't latch on to. YMMV.
I was really happy to hear that Derek is coming back to CC.

Yo Big Daddy! | Posted July-26-2007
This CD kicks it off big (yes, pun intended) with the title song "What I Was Made For." It just rocks! I pretty much liked all of the upbeat songs on this CD as I'm pretty much an upbeat type of guy. Ha!
"Killing Me Again" was a cool and funky 70's type of song that was a little different style from the rest of the album, but I loved the song! Where's my platform shoes? :-)
I didn't quite get the beat on "Quiet Time" (just kidding!!!).
Overall a great CD and highly recommended.
Blessings!

Almost Every Track... | Posted July-25-2007
I enjoyed just about every track on this album except track #10. For some reason, it just didn't gel with me musically, but that's just me. All the other tracks were great right from the opening radio hit "Glory Defined."
The expanded edition has a few remixes which are great too!
You will like this CD.
Tracks on my iPod:
Well, as of right now, all of them are on my iPod as that is how I first listened to this album. I'll probably be narrowing it down to just my favorites soon though. :-)

Let Me Tell You Something | Posted July-06-2007
I've always liked RSJ's music. Maybe it's just her Aussie accent, her wild wardrobe, or the passion she uses in her music.
As usual, this project opens with three rocking tracks. The middle of the CD seems to drag a little and tobyMac can't even lift track "Thank You" up to being a great song. I did like track 5 "Love Being Loved By You" though.
"Forgive Me" and "Lest I Forget" were good ballads to balance out the project.
Overall I liked this project and it stayed true to standard RSJ form.
Granted, I did write this review after listening to this CD only one time, so YMMV. Sometimes after multiple listens, my opinion of a whole CD project changes, so let's hope it does on this one too.
Tracks synced to my iPod:
1 - God Help Me
2 - Alive
3 - You Are Loved
