Alien Youth

Skillet Skillet was one of the original bands that got me into Christian rock, and Alien Youth was definately a huge part of that. The lyrics are awesome and surprisingly unique and unlike anything else I've heard...

12 Stones I was stoked when I first heard of this release, after Potter's Field I couldn't wait to see how AftU would be, but when I finally got it, I was very disappointed. It's not a bad CD, but they lost alot...
An Ocean Between Us

As I Lay Dying An Ocean Between Us is a superb album from AILD, and I believe that overall it's their best album to date. They keep a constant sound and feel throughout the album without it sounded too monotonous, and...

I was a huge Skillet fan, and I still love their music, but this album is nowhere near the quality of their previous two. It almost seems as if they took their hardest works and softened them up, then took their softest works and made them harder, bringing this album to a plain, boring middle ground. The music is still good, don't get me wrong, but Collide and Alien Youth were much better both in terms of music and of lyrics.
Best of Skilelt | Posted August-15-2008
This is the best Skillet album to date, in my opinion. When they played a hard song, it was HARD, when they toned it down, it was soft and still amazing. Every song on this album is amazing both lyrically and musically. Skillet has never done better work musically.

As always, Norma Jean's sound and energy are astounding. I used to hate their chaotic music, but now I love the style. I may still be at a loss as to what the lyrics mean, but you can't deny that the music is astounding. And Aaron Weiss ((mewithoutYou))'s guest vocals fit surprisingly well into 'Memphis Will Be Laid to Waste'.

The energy that this band puts out in every single song is absolutely amazing, and it makes the album alot of fun to listen to. Definately the type of music that you want to put on full blast in your cd player.
However, I found it disappointing lyrically. Overall, the lyrics rarely seemed to go to anything that was really worthwhile, as all they did was focus on dancing, dancing, dancing except for in one or two songs.

Wow, just plain wow. Having only heard "Death Finds Us Breathing" before hearing this album, I was very shocked at the style they took with this album, but it was amazing nonetheless. The combination of the high screams and growls worked perfectly, and the fact that almost all of the songs are blatantly from the Bible or Christian themed is awesome as well. High energy, fast paced, plain out hard rock.

I was stoked when I first heard of this release, after Potter's Field I couldn't wait to see how AftU would be, but when I finally got it, I was very disappointed. It's not a bad CD, but they lost alot of the hardness that I loved them for, it seems that they've being going steadily downhill from their first album.

Cant' wait for the full-length | Posted August-14-2008
This short 4-track EP from One Minute Halo has me stoked for the release of their full-length album. The songs are all good and the range in the vocal style is nice as well. They don't go to much towards the screaming end of things, but it's enough for it to work very well, in my opinion.
I was 'meh' at first and 'heck yeah' afterwards | Posted August-14-2008
I saw this band live once, and had heard "Vices Like Vipers" once or twice before. To be honest, I wasn't necessarily a big fan, but I didn't dislike Oh, Sleeper either. However, when I stumbled across this album on Ebay at a very good price, I caved in and bought it.
Now I'm hooked. From the first read-through of the lyrics, "Vices Like Vipers" had me pulled into this band. I love their sound, but their lyrics are absolutely amazing all the way through.
