Incredible album! I don't even know where to start. With great slow almost hymn-like music such as Where You Belong/Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus and Entertaining Angels to songs with more of a contemporary feel. All these songs are worth listening to over and over. The messages they contain are very useful from "you give me joy that's unspeakable and I like it" to "steppin' on up to the microphone I said 'hey man there's only One way'" to the mind-blowing song Who "and there's no use explaining what can't be contained. I'm not following a God I can lead around. I can't tame this deity and that's why Jesus is the final answer to who I want my God to be" Check out this album! It will be worth your while!

Take Me To Your Leader | Posted July-07-2010
I played this album over and over again. Such clever ideas and lyrics. The song Take Me To Your Leader is genius. How would we respond if we were asked by a lost person "Can you take me to your leader?" The song Lost The Plot was very interesting. It starts with the basic image of people lazing around and you realize that Christ has come back, but they got so comfortable where they were that they forgot who they were waiting for. "When you come back again could you bring me something from the fridge? Heard a rumor that the end is near, but I just got comfortable here" The first track (God is not a secret) challenges us to tell others about Jesus. "If we keep silent...the very rocks will scream 'God is not a secret to be kept'". I highly recommend this album to those who enjoy lyrics that make them think and that actually challenge them in their faith.

I really enjoyed this album. It encourages one to be bold and live life boldly in the song cross the line ("everybody dies but not everyone lives"). They have a god mix of louder songs and quieter more reflective songs. Hold and Crawl are songs that emphasize that even in our weakness we have someone to cling to: Jesus. They also reminded us that God is with us ("if I had to crawl, well You'd crawl too. I stumble and I fall, carry me through, the wonder of it all is You see me through"). So Beautiful was a song that united girls as one force and reminds us that we are beautiful. One More encourages perseverance and pressing on. I felt that this album brought up a lot of good points and encourages many Biblical ideas. Sometimes you just have to look a little harder to find them.

I really enjoyed this album. Sara Groves has a remarkable way of putting words together in a way that makes them stay in your mind. She also makes good points and reminds us to make God a priority. In one of her songs she states "Then I realize I'm forgetting God, it's the root of all my misery", then she encourages us to find out first of all how our relationship with God is going, and to value our relationship with God over our spouse, our job, and our things. She also has a song called "Generations" where she admits that if she had been standing in Eve's place she would have made the same mistake, and she reminds us that what we do and the decisions we make can affect generations. In her song "This Journey Is My Own" she reminds us that we need to live for God and God only. We do not need to worry about having man's approval, but we need to make sure that whatever we do, we do for God's glory because it is Him we will have to answer to in the end. She is honest and never seems to be forcing a rhyme or melody. It seems effortless and it is easy to understand the words she says. I find her songs are fun to sing along to and they reveal great Biblical truths. She stays really close to the message of Jesus Christ, and her love for Him shows in her music and her life. I heartily recommend this album to anyone who wants some good music that doesn't have to blow out your speakers to be good. =)

my first review :) | Posted January-12-2010
I personally found Hello Hurricane to be an incredible album! It is not one of those albums where you love two songs, it is an album that makes you want to sing along with every song on it. This is the Sound is a great song to sing at the top of your lungs and Mess of Me is a great one to blare in your room. I love it!
