The Kane Mutiny EP

Project 86 The best thing about this EP is easily the remixes. Finally putting my hands on the song "The Kane Mutiny" felt good too, after feeling ripped off with the whole 'itunes only' situation. Anyway its good...

This has become my favorite album of all time. Emery has the most unique sound, incorporating harmony and screaming into the same songs. The things they do with two vocalists are amazing. It's one of those albums you don't just listen to certain songs of, you listen to it in order and as a whole. The album stand together rather than with some songs better than others. All of the songs are amazing and sound so much better if preceded and followed by the surrounding tracks. Emery Rocks!

The acoustic versions and demos are also very cool. And the documentary is very enjoyable to watch.
quite good, quite good | Posted January-17-2008
I wasn't sure what to expect when I first got this cd. Basically I got it because I had heard they were good and the price on iTunes was amazing. But I was very impressed with the musical quality. The lead singer's screams are chilling, and the lyrics are very good in some place. "Cassie" was a standout to me because I realized it was talking about Cassie Bernall, the martyr who was shot in the school shooting. That's a really cool song. It was a sound investment.

Many feel that hardcore is all the same and never original, and in many cases, they are correct. With hardcore act The Chariot's latest, "The Fiancee," nothing could be further from the truth. Aggressive in nature but with deep lyrics, the Chariot keeps it fresh throughout on their sophomore album. Never does the listener tire of what they are hearing, as the music is constantly changing, making for a fresh sound, holding the listener's attention. In standout track "Shot Each Other," Josh Scogin's low growls entwine with what sounds like a gospel choir, making for a sound unlike anything heard before. Guitar and vocals on songs like "Forgive Me Nashville" mix to outstanding effect. This album won't let you down.
If you even remotely have ever enjoyed a scream, you will love this | Posted September-05-2007
...seriously. No other hard rock band has crafted something so amazing. If you are wondering whether or not to get it....get it! If you don't really like Age of Reptiles...still get it! Because they sound completely different. Both are good, but each is a distinct album. Seriously... Showbread rocks.

This album is awesome. Straight up- I love it. With a slightly more poppy sound than Blueprints for the Black Market, Never Take Friendship Personal is also a much more accessible album. It has a fun sound on tracks like "Stationary Stationery" and "Time & Confusion," but also has a serious side on "The Feel Good Drag" and "Paperthin Hymn" [among others]. It isn't directly spiritual; most of the songs are about love; but spiritual overtones are present in some tracks. Altogether, an amazing listen.

The main complaint i've heard regarding Singularity, is that it doesn't show growth and it sounds just like other Mae songs. I'm asking, "So what!?!" People are complaining about Mae's sound? Yes, it sounds pretty much like The Everglow and Destination: Beautiful, but that's an awesome sound that i can't get enough of. It's one of the only things i've listened to since its release, and i've been very impressed by the catchiness of songs like "Sic Semper Tyrannis" and "Rocket." As always on a Mae album, there are a few "big" songs that every self-respecting emo kid or Christian music fan has heard, but if you go beyond those few songs, I think anyone who has like Mae's previous work will be very impressed by Singularity.
P.S. Don't miss the hidden track "Last Transmission." It rocks!
