The main complaint i've heard regarding Singularity, is that it doesn't show growth and it sounds just like other Mae songs. I'm asking, "So what!?!" People are complaining about Mae's sound? Yes, it sounds pretty much like The Everglow and Destination: Beautiful, but that's an awesome sound that i can't get enough of. It's one of the only things i've listened to since its release, and i've been very impressed by the catchiness of songs like "Sic Semper Tyrannis" and "Rocket." As always on a Mae album, there are a few "big" songs that every self-respecting emo kid or Christian music fan has heard, but if you go beyond those few songs, I think anyone who has like Mae's previous work will be very impressed by Singularity.
