The best pop/rock album of the decade

Step Up to the Microphone is not just a good or great album, its one of those career defining albums that really put the Newsboys on the map to become one of the greatest Christian rock bands of all time. Step Up To The Microphone is one of the most brillant albums (not just Christian albums but albums) to be released in the past 10 years. Its so solid. The lyrics portray amazing imagery. The music is incredible. Lots of string instruments make up the background music yet it still has a very rock and roll flare. There are slower soft songs such as the underated The Tide and Always and faster loud songs like Deep End, and Step Up To The Microphone. The main overlying theme of the album is to step out in faith believing God will use us to be a light to a dark world. The Newsboys do a great job of following through this theme in a creative way.
