"On us who live in the dark shadow of death, this light will shine to guide us into a life of peace" (Luke 1:79)
Random Hero is a international rock band from Denver, Colorado. They have been changing lives through their positive and hard-hitting music for over ten years. Random Hero worked incredibly hard to present their music in a tight, energy charged live show. It did not take long before they started gaining a huge and loyal fan base that has have gifted the band numerous accolades through the years. Random Hero's name is taken from the idea that someone random, anyone, can be a hero in another person's life. They want to encourage others to always show grace and love because you never know what someone is going through.
In the late summer of 2010, the band was rewarded once again for their hard work when they opened a sold out show for Skillet at Elitch Gardens Amusement Park in Denver, CO. At the conclusion of Random Hero’s set, both John Cooper and Ben Kasica of Skillet approached the band to inquire whether or not the band was signed to a label. Over the following months, Random Hero signed an exclusive production contract with Ben Kasica. “It is a great honor that Ben has chosen to work with Random Hero,” said front man Aaron Watkins. Watkins went on to say, “not only is Ben highly respected for his producing talents, but all the members of Random Hero are huge fans of Skillet.” Pre-production on a number of songs started in September of 2010. On November 1, 2010, the band began recording the new songs at Kasiaca’s, Skies Fall Studios, in Kenosha, WI.
Random Hero has not only been flooded by fan praise, they have also racked up commercial recognition. The band performed on the Vans Warped Tour, and multiple times at Cornerstone Festival, Agapefest, Hills Alive, Heavenfest, and Elitch Gardens Amusement Park. In addition, Random Hero was chosen by MTV to film an episode of “Made”. They have worked with the ESPN X-Games, AMA Motocross, Go Fast Extreme Games, and more.
In 2009 and 2010, Armed Forces Entertainment added Random Hero to the exclusive roster of bands selected to entertain the US Military. The band has performed their song, “Guardians of Freedom”, written exclusively for the United States Air Force, for thousands of service members at multiple military bases.
Random Hero has shared the stage numerous times with Skillet, Red, Relient K, Trapt, 3 Days Grace, Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, Fireflight, David Crowder, Family Force 5, Single File, Emery, Fit For a King, Stryper, Switchfoot, and many others.
Random Hero was approached by Joseph Rojas of Rockfest Records in February of 2018 and they were accepted into their roster. They immediately began the process of releasing their newest and strongest release, Tension. Aaron Watkins shares about their new process with this album, "We took an entirely different approach to writing this record. Joseph challenged us to grow beyond what we've done in the past. So, Patrick, Rob and I went to Nashville and did co-writes with our producer Kellen McGregor (Memphis May Fire) and Josiah Prince (Disciple). Those two guys are going to be legends, mark my words. Each writing session was an organic team effort, everyone was firing on all cylinders and bringing new ideas to the table..."
Their hard work and challenges were well rewarded with a career-setting release, bowing at #21 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart, as well as at #26 on Nielsen SoundScan's Current Hard Music Album Sales chart, the August 23 release also debuted on Billboard's Christian Album Sales chart at #13. To finalize these changes, they also added Micah Labrosse to their band officially, saying, ""Micah has played with us in the past and because of our personal chemistry--both on and off the stage--we just knew he was the right fit. We are incredibly excited about what God has ahead for Random Hero."
