Hello, Good Friend | Posted April-14-2008
At this point The Rocket Summer isn't quite as experienced, and his music is a little less mature, but this CD still has a lot potential. I really like how more of the songs are piano-based on this CD. Every song is catchy, and most are upbeat, with honest lyrics. A lot of the songs are love songs to his wife, but there are also some with really good messages, like Treasure, Never Knew and Show Me Everything You've Got. AFter the first few listens, this CD can really get you hooked. So although not quite as polished as his laatest, Bryce Avary still did a great job on this CD.

Apathetic EP | Posted April-01-2008
Unfortunately it's an EP, and not a full CD, but it still has a lot to offer. I really liked the new songs that were on the CD, especially Apathetic Way To Be. There's a pun right in the title. I love Dave Douglas' vocals in this song. I liked the acoustic versions of old songs too, especially Be My Escape, which just made the song more beautiful in my opinion. Which to Bury... wasn't my favourite. The song lost most of its passion in the acoustic version. So although it was short, it's a really good CD.

A solid Relient K CD. I really enjoy it. It's more melodic, and less punk. The lyrics improved a lot from the last CD. I like that Matt stepped aside and let a few other guys do some singing in a few songs. Be My Escape and I So Hate Consequences are beautiful and shows their faith a little more, which is always good. So overall a prety great CD.

Relient K's third album | Posted December-05-2007
Not one of their best. It has some great parts to it, but not quite up there with their other great CDs. A couple of the songs are complete nonsense. They're all just a little more electronic than their other ones, wiht not as much substance. High points for me were Forward Motion and Getting Into You. So since it's still Relient K, it's a great CD, but if you only get one CD by them, this one shouldn't be it.

The Anatomy of Tongue in Cheek | Posted December-05-2007
Relient K's second full-length album, and in my opinion its their best. They had lost their amateur sound, but were still really unique. Now the band is more professional sounding and more talented, but then they had more of their own sound. Pressing On and For the Moments I feel Faint, are lyrically genius. And of course nothing can beat Sadie Hawkins Dance. There's a reason the crowd still alwyas requests it for an encore during concerts.

Relient K | Posted December-01-2007
It was Relient K's first Cd, so you need to give them some slack. It is pretty amateur and unoriginal, but you can tell they have some real talent already. The lyrics are meaningless for the most part, but it's still got some substance, and the songs are pretty catchy.

Not bad | Posted November-15-2007
This Cd isn't anything really special, but i enjoy it nevertheless. I really like the lead singer's voice. The songs aren't very diverse in their sound, but I like the slow songs as well as the fast. So it doesn't stand out, but a pretty solid rock CD.

Not one of my favourite CDs. The lead singer's voice gets pretty annoying after a while. He doesn't have enough power in his voice to pull off this type of music. Some of their songs, like Cloudy, are catchy, though. In my opinion they try too hard to sound like an emo band. I think they'd be better suited for a different genre.

Do You Feel | Posted November-15-2007
Amazing album. Bryce Avary is so young, yet extremely talented. He has stepped it up from his last CDs, and just sounds more professional. The lyrics are just great. Do You Feel really opened up my eyes, and all of the other songs are also really catchy and fun to listen to. One of my favourite CDs of all time.

Reason for Motion | Posted November-14-2007
Not incredibly unique, just a very basic rock sound, but with some rap and hip hop infused with it, so a little different. I actually thought their best songs were their slow ones, Memories and Tragedy, which are both beautiful and really well written. The lead singer has a good voice for that type of music, and overall I enjoy the Cd.
