beautiful and classic. | Posted October-26-2008
This album was different then I expected but in alot of ways its better then I expected. The girls really show off their vocal abilities on Home for Christmas and its impressive. Alyssa Barlow especially shines vocally on the album and I was very happy to finally hear Becca Barlow's beautiful voice on "what child is this?"
My favorite song on the entire album has to be (Halelujah) light has come. Its no surprise to me that the one song they wrote on the album is my favorite song. They are incredible song writers and this song makes that even more evident to put it simply it is a gorgeous song. you have to listen to it to understand how moving and beautiful it is. I'm very proud of my favorite band on this project. They did a wonderful job infusing the true spirt of christmas into this album making it both classic and even timeless.

well written | Posted October-25-2008
I really appreciated the reverence he took with this subject but at the same time He was straight forward and left no grey areas when it comes to purity and what it really means to be pure not just abstinent. I think alot of young people should read this book. I found it very well written and helpful.

The album does not start out all that great but as it progresses it seems to get better and better. Jaci is very good at singing worship music and the woship songs are my favorite on this album. I'm not sure I would purchase this album but it does have some gems that are worth listening to.

not fantastic but enjoyable | Posted February-12-2008
Her voice is pretty but the music quality was nothing special to me and it seemed like the worship music I've heard a thousand times before. The best parts of the album are the songs that are slower tempo because they display her voice very nicely. I don't think I would buy this album because it does not seem like much to invest in but she can sing and thats a good thing.

too amazing for words | Posted February-08-2008
This album for me has such a strong influence in my life and I listen to it very often because it is a great compilation of amazing songs about life and faith and the battle we all are fighting and are going to have to fight against the world and all its immoral ideals.
This album to me is a great turning point for the girls. They've grown and matured and this album displays that in so many ways. Vocally and Musically I believe they have really come into their own and done something incredible with this album.
I do enjoy and love every song but there are so gems that really stand out.
Here's My Life-The Lyrics are what really capture me in this song and then also the ways its arranged musically is great! The girls wrote it about being away from home and their family members while on tour and how hard it is to give your all for your faith and sacrifice precious time with the people you love but at the end of the day saying "lord I know you have called me for your work so once more here is my life" I've really connected with this song because of its great message of endurance in faith.
I Believe In love-this song is currently climbing the radio charts and that is no surprise to me because Its a great song both lyrically and musically. The Chorus was actually inspired by the words on the wall of a mens concentration camp which say "I Believe in the sun in even when its not shining,I Believe in love even when I don't feel it, and I Believe in god even when he is silent" Alyssa Barlow read that quote in a book and shared with her sisters who both agreed that it should be a song. BalowGirl really did something great with song in that they wrote it with reverence to the words of that unknown holocaust victim and yet they delved even deeper into the heart and spirit of that quote making this song an extremely beautiful and touching song.
Keep Quiet-I'll admit musically its not as strong as some of the songs on the album but I am absolutely in love with its message of the importance to speak our saviors name no matter how unpopular it is. They put it so perfectly in the chorus when they say "when all of the hope of the worlds in your name why are we so scared to say Oh Jesus?" This song really has reinforced my desire to be a fearless Jesus freak so to speak and to not be afraid to say my saviors name no matter where I'm at or who I'm with!
Million Voices-This is without a doubt the most hard rock BarlowGirl song I ever heard and I completely adore it! Its a bold song with an even bolder message to this generation to stand up and shake up this world for the glory of our god. It was inspired by the scripture 1 peter 2:9 that talks about us being a holy nation and the chosen generation of god. All around this is a powerful song and its one of those songs that makes you want to be passionate for the righteous things in life and not olny say it but live it and live it boldly!! "We're a million strong and getting stronger they'll remember we were here. We're the million voices breaking silence till they'll remember we were here!" AMEN!!!
One more around-At first I was not sure how I felt about this song because it is so different then any of their music but it has definitely grown on me and every time I listen to it I love it more and more! The girls said that their desire for this song was to paint a picture of the spiritual battle we all face when we fight for what is right and in the song its shown in a boxing analogy that is very unique and fun. Its all about getting back up every time we get knocked down and taking it another round because with god on our side we are invincible!
The Guy Song-This song is also unique in that its a purity song that is not written for girls but actually completely for the men of this generation to say that the lord desires them to be Valiant warriors. Musically its also pretty unique and Becca Barlow really displays her great talent as a female guitarist. Its a very up beat song that never seem to slow down but I think its fitting to the lyrics and message of the song. Even though it was written for guys I find that I can interpret for my life too especially when it talks about over coming the distractions of the world.
I don't regret-This is a very beautiful song about what it means to give your heart to the lord and not look back with any regrets because he is and always will keep his promises to us. Alyssa Barlow sings it very well. She has a voice that is suited for rock music but also can be very tender and soothing and she definitely displays Beautiful vocals in this song. Its a very moving song that we can all relate to about the lord who loves us and should always be the keeper of our hearts.
How Can We Be Silent is a powerful album and anthem for that matter especially when a person listens to it and relates every part of its message to their lives. Alyssa,Lauren, and Becca have a great talent for writing real songs with real substance and I'm amazed by how much their music has influenced me over the years.

impressive debut! | Posted February-07-2008
My friend gave me this Album because she had bought it but found it to be way too faith centered for her taste and I'll admit I liked it alright, gave it a listen, and then well kinda forgot about it for awhile and then I kept hearing their music on K-love and really loving it but then I found I could not find my CD! Luckily after searching for a month I found it and thats when I fell in love with it like I am now. I like that its not all bells and whistles its simply good quality heartfelt worship music. I like to listen to it when I want to just mellow out and feel the spirit. All the songs are so full of faith and just so uplifting!
My Favorite song on the album with the exception of the successful radio singles undo and when our are hearts sing is definately be still. What a powerful song that puts it so simply with the scriptural inspired phrase "Be Still and know that I am god" That is so comforting and they sing it so reverently which I appreciate very much. The reverence of the entire album is what draws me to it the most because although rock music especially Christian rock music is great sometimes I just want it to be reverent but still very enjoyable and this album is definitely that for me.
I'm eager to hear what their next album will sound like and I hope they stay true to their worship roots because its what makes me love their music.

Be My escape-This is a great song and not olny is it good quality music wise it has a really great message too about letting the lord in without fear. I love how it slows down in the middle and Matt shows off his very impressive vocals.
Sunny with a high of 75-I really get into this song and It cracks me up when they talk about the weather making them bipolar! It actually true too which is the funny part to me! good song!
I so hate consequences-Another great great relient k song! I love how its start out really up beat and just keeps on being amazing!! The great thing about this song is its really great musically and then when you pay attention the the lyrics you realize just how great its message is and how much you can relate to it too.
My girls ex-boyfriend-This is a really sweet song and I love when he says "If it wasn't for him I wouldn't know my Best friend" AWE yes and of course musically its great too!
Who to bury us or the hatchet-One of my favorite songs of all time! I love everything about it! I love its message and more then anything I love how absolutely rockin it is!! I love how matt rocks out the chorus with his vocals and then I love how it mellows out. WOW one of the best punk rock songs ever!!!
All around this album is just plain out great and I do not think I could ever get sick of it no matter what age I am!
